We love reading at St Peter's and look to foster that same love of reading in our children and families. To help your child learn to love reading, we ask that children are heard read at home four times a week to help them build fluency and comprehension, as well as to develop a better understanding of this world and to explore new ones! Children can change their books and select a new one as soon as they finish, so please ensure they have them available every day. Please help your children by logging any home reading into their Boom Reader account.
Children receive homework every Wednesday to be completed by the following Wednesday. They will receive Maths, Reading and Spelling homework weekly. Homework is to be completed on Showbie.
In Farook class, all children have PE lessons on Fridays. On Wednesdays Year 4 children have PE whilst Year 3 children go swimming (Autumn and Spring term 1 only) Following February half term the Year 3 children will commence PE on Wednesdays.
Please ensure your child has their PE kit ready at school, jewellery is safely stored away at home, and hair is neatly tied back. For the safety of our children during PE days, we kindly request that you ensure earrings are removed before they come to school. This is essential for their well-being. Please also remember that for outdoor PE sessions, tracksuit or jogging bottoms and trainers are welcome to ensure the comfort and safety of the children in colder weather.
During the summer term the children in Year 4 will complete the government's Multiplication tables Check. Children need to learn their timestables up to 12x12.
We invite all parents to dive into our Curriculum, a unique educational journey designed to ignite your child's curiosity and passion for learning.
